Let’s go fishing…

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “give a man a fish, feed him for a day – teach a man to fish, feed him for life.” Well this has translated into a philosophy for Jennifer Lee Promotions. When I started this company, almost a year ago, I wanted it to be different than the firms who push any and every product at clients just to make sales. I wanted to be more about creativity and strategy. So where does the saying come in?

Our business card says “more than just custom swag & apparel” – and we mean every word. We don’t want to just sell you products – we want to sell you a creative promotional strategy. That is, how can you use a specific product with a specific message to direct traffic to a website, or a store; or increase sales, or employee morale. The promotional products we sell aren’t just tangible – and that is what sets us apart. We want to teach you how to fish for customers – so you will never go hungry.

Pricing Promotional Products

When companies price out promo products for clients, many do it differently – just like suppliers have different methods of pricing. The costs associated with these products include the item itself (variable), sometimes an extra imprinting fee depending on imprinting method and colours involved (variable), setup fees (fixed cost), and shipping (fixed plus variable).

Some firms may include setup fees and or shipping in the individual cost of the product, so when you’re calculating cost per item that the firm is charging you, make sure you take all outlined costs into effect. This will help you determine the real cost of your promotional products campaign.
